We Are Not a Lender
LoanPathway, operated by [Company legal name — to be added], is not a lender. We do not make loans, make credit decisions, or broker loans, and we are not an agent of any lender. Our free service lets you submit one loan request, which we transmit through our lead-distribution partner, Lending Revenue (lendingrevenue.net), to lenders and lead buyers in its network. We are paid by lenders and partners, never by you.
How Lenders Decide
Each lender uses its own criteria to decide whether to make you an offer and on what terms. Lenders commonly consider:
- Your credit history, which may be checked through soft and/or hard inquiries;
- Your income, employment and ability to repay;
- Your existing debts;
- The accuracy and completeness of the information you provided; and
- The laws of the state where you live.
Submitting a request does not guarantee an offer or approval. Loan amounts, rates, fees and terms vary by lender.
State Availability
Our service is not available in all states. We currently do not accept requests from residents of New York or Illinois. Lenders may not operate in every state, and the loan amounts, rates, fees and terms available to you may be limited by your state's laws.
Material Terms Are Disclosed by the Lender
If a lender makes you an offer, you will be redirected to the lender's website. Before you sign, the lender is required to disclose the material terms of the loan, including the APR, finance charge, amount financed, total of payments, payment schedule, and any fees. Read these disclosures carefully. You are never obligated to accept an offer. See our Rates & Fees page for typical ranges and examples.
Implications of Late Payment or Non-Payment
Borrowing money is a serious financial commitment. If you miss a payment or do not repay your loan, your lender may:
- Charge late fees and returned payment fees as described in your loan agreement;
- Attempt to collect the debt itself or refer or sell it to a collection agency; and
- Report late payments or default to one or more credit bureaus, which may lower your credit score.
Collection Practices
Lenders in our network are expected to follow applicable federal and state law when collecting debts, including rules such as those in the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) that prohibit abusive, unfair or deceptive practices. Specific collection practices are set by each lender's own policies and loan agreement. If you believe a lender or collector has treated you unfairly, you may contact the lender, your state regulator, or the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (consumerfinance.gov).
Credit Checks
Submitting a request on our Site does not by itself affect your credit score. Lenders that receive your request may check your credit, which may include soft inquiries (which do not affect your score) and hard inquiries (which may). Each lender will tell you about its own practices. See our Credit Authorization.
Renewal Policy
No automatic renewals are offered through our service. Whether a loan can be renewed, extended or refinanced depends on the lender and on your state's laws. Ask your lender about its renewal policy before you accept a loan, and review the renewal terms in your loan agreement.
Borrow Responsibly
- Borrow only what you need and can comfortably repay.
- Compare the APR, fees and total repayment of every offer, not just the monthly payment.
- Make sure the monthly payment fits your budget, including other bills and expenses.
- Read the full loan agreement before you sign and ask the lender about anything unclear.
- Contact your lender right away if you think you may miss a payment.
- If you are struggling with debt, consider speaking with a nonprofit credit counselor.
Questions
Because we are not a lender, we cannot tell you whether you have been approved or change the terms of a loan. For questions about a specific loan, contact your lender. For questions about our service, see our Contact Us page.
